SOCIAL IMPACT
Abdullah’s weaving workshop is a family business that has existed for three generations in Hama, Syria, specializing in the ancient art of cotton towel and textile weaving dating back to 1853. When the workshop opened, there were about 600 of its kind, but today due to the war, Abdullah and his family run the only workshop left in Syria dedicated entirely to the traditional craft of hand-woven textiles and towels. Each purchase supports the advancement of artisan entrepreneurs, both in the U.S. and the Middle East.
