SOCIAL IMPACT
Hasan has been in the Aleppo Laurel Soap business since 1984, and has persevered despite the lack of resources due to the war in Syria. Connecting his laurel soaps to a global market helps to strengthen the local farming community and contribute to Syria’s economic development. Upon arrival to our warehouse in LA, the soaps are individually packaged by hand.
Each Aghabani bag is handmade by a women’s embroidery workshop dedicated to this craft in Damascus, Syria. The 25 women are led by our artisan partners MONA and OULA. These Syrian women support their families through the Aghabani traditional craft.
