When my favorite artist and brother Offendum suggested we visit Coachella and attended the Date Harvest Festival, my immediate reaction was YES!!! I grew up in the date farming community on the Arab-Persian gulf shores, I love eating dates, and I dream up new date products and recipes on a daily basis! We attended, and exhibited our products. So, what does Mint+Laurel have to do with dates and the Date Harvest Festival? This is what we learned at the festival:

1. Date lovers are also organic soap lovers. Nearly everyone who attended the festival stopped by, smelled our Aleppo soaps, and made a purchase.

2. Customers who bought were from the local community, and cared deeply about the social impact we had on the Syrian community across the globe. 

3. Our co-exhibitors sold dates that originated from Iraq, Morocco and other places in the Middle East, so we felt at home.

4. The community feel, music, beautiful outdoor scenery was a great complement to our organic, naturally scented laurel, tulip, jasmine, rose, lavender soaps. We offered the olfactory experience to the stunning surroundings. 

We loved being in Coachella and sharing our Syrian artisans’ stories and beautiful products. Check out loofahs and Kassab soaps, they were a great hit at the festival.
